HEALTHCARE REFORM VOTE UPDATE!!!!!

Hello to all of you!

I spent all 12 hours watching the health care reform debate yesterday. I am happy and sad all at the same time. I yelled and cheered at my Tv as if I was watching the super bowl. I don't like every part of the bill but of course I like the part of them not being able to deny people with preexisting conditions insurance. I have been very careful not to endorse this bill over the past couple of months because I have mixed feelings about it. As President Obama said, its not a perfect bill. However, its always been my fear that if this bill didn't pass it would be another 20 years before hardworking, ill people like me can get help.

One thing that surprised me is that the new bill immediately bans insurance companies from denying children with preexisting conditions but the law for adults doesn't go into effect until 2014. Government subsidies will not take effect until 2014 Thats horrible and shameful!!! That will be to late for many people who will be bankrupt by then. Which is why I feel the dating site will still help others for the next 4 years until the plan goes into effect.

My other concern,as quoted by John McCain Appearing on ABC's "Good Morning America," this morning. McCain, who was Obama's GOP rival in the 2008 presidential campaign, said that "outside the Beltway, the American people are very angry. They don't like it, and we're going to repeal this." So, with a court battle likely, this may or may not ever take effect.

So, I will continue to fight till we know we get the help we need. What do you think?? Do you have any ideas how I can continue to help others??

good luck in your endeavors. i'm praying for you. i am stuck in my marriage for just that reason. i am no longer happy w/my marriage and sometimes feel i'd rather just check out if i knew i had a life threatening problem that would kill me w/o insurance. though not as bad as i'm making it sound, still i see a cheery person like you fighting to stay alive it makes me so sad ~ but that's a different story... i can only wish you success AND love!

Are you happy you voted for Obama now? While you were cheering over this healthcare bill, seniors and the disabled were being thrown under the bus so to speak. There are millions of people on Medicare who are disabled and their medical benefits will be rationed and cut as a result of the bill. What do you think happens when the program is cut by $560 Billion dollars? Millions of people who are struggling to meet monthly bills will be forced to buy insurance endangering their already shaky financial status. Do you have any idea who Obama's advisiors are and what they believe? You need to read the following article and find out and for heavens sake stop watching MSNBC!

      Hi Susan,

Thank you for your response. I want you to know that I am not a democrat but an independent. I have been very careful to not endorse the healthcare reform bill in any of my interviews. There is MUCH about the bill I don't like. My parents are almost 80 and I worry for them and others as well. My Father is a retired  Army Colonel and a staunch Republican. They hate the healthcare bill but they are also worried about what is going to happen to me if I don't get health insurance. As I said, I must live 6 months without insurance in order to qualify for this high risk pool there setting up. I cant live 6 days without insurance let alone 6 months. I will just continue my fight to rid insurance companies from denying insurance to people with pre existing conditions.  This is the only position I can and will endorse 100%. Thank you again for writing! Terri

I suggest that you try and qualify for State Medi-cal coverage. It is asset and income based but an attorney can help you take the necessary steps tp qualify and protect cuurent assests. Here's one that I found on a web search-http://www.will-trust-probate.com/medi-cal-protecting-assets.htm for example. I'm truly sorry about your situation but my fear under Obamcare in 2014 is that there will also be limits on care. It is designed to provide less care for the youngest and those over 40. This is why insurance companies have agreed to it. Besides millions of people being forced to buy their policies, they know the government will put limits on their liability in exchange for covering the high risk. You seem like a smart person and I would like to suggest that you start reading news online. That's what many people do these days to find the truth and a variety of information and opinions. Try newsmax.com, or drudgereport.com. 36 million people from all over the world read drudge the day after Obamacare was passed. Even Senators and Congressmem in DC read it. Down on the left hand side of their page you will find a list of names/links to other online news sources including Canada and England. Another good site is theamericanthinker.com. Maybe then you might be able to see the big picture and why many Americans are upset that they no longer have the freedom to choose whether they have insurance or not. Think about the fact that Obama has taken over banks, an auto company, now student loans and healthcare. Next is energy with cap and trade, a huge tax increase on everyone. Obama made an interesting comment while running for president "People in the US have too high of a standard of living" He's after your money and the fact is that the goverment under Obamcare will hire over 10 thousand new IRS agents. They will have access to all your banking and finacial information.

Hi Susan, I just want you to know, I do share your concern. I have the same fears. I  do read some of the publications you mentioned. I also have looked into hiding my assets but Medical go back 3 years to see if you have given assets away. They are onto that! Believe me, I would if I could.

I do thank you for your comments and just know... we are NOT on different teams. I agree with you!

      Take care! Terri

Keep making noise! The people screaming 'communist' 'nazi' 'socialist' 'fascist' are clearly missing information. Most people miss a key point in 'The Grasshopper and The Ant': The Ant is a member of a socialist organization. People have been bamboozled by the rich, who wouldn't give up any of their socialized profit, contacts, connections, and perquisites for anything. People born rich are at high risk for sociopathic behavior. You and I suffer. Free Enterprise is 'free' in the same sense that a Reality Show is 'real.'

Gene, Great comment. You are 100% right! I will continue to fight for those of us who cant wait 4 years for healthcare reform to kick in. The fact is people like us have to turn to lying and cheating just to be insured. Either Marry for healthinsurance because we cant get it on our own or maybe even start a fake business to be able to get insurance. Either way we must lie and cheat just for our healthcare to be covered and so we don't end up on the streets and a burden to our families. Shame on the USA!! Thanks for your support
